One of the questions we get asked the most by people thinking of moving to Punta Cana is, “What kinds of activities are there to do in the area?” There are so many things to do in Punta Cana! There really is something for everyone here.
For instance, if you love to eat, we have plenty of incredible restaurants to choose from. One of our favorites is called Onno’s, which is a terrific little restaurant directly on the beach that serves the most delicious tacos! They also have amazing pizza and pasta special and even mouth-watering fajitas. If steak is more your thing, you’ve got to check out La Bruja Chupadora and Noah and Citrus Fusion restaurants. They are incredible and also owned by the same wonderful family. They also offer other options like sushi, pasta and some wonderful local Dominican dishes!
We even have a great Cuban restaurant here called Don Pio’s. I could go on and on!
If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush, there’s Montana Redonda in Miches that offers edge swing rides with 360 degree views of the gorgeous mountains and coast. There’s also Scape park in Cap Cana for thrilling ziplining on a cliff, water zip lining, cave exploring and so much more!
If you have children you’ll be happy to know that the theme park KATMANDU is now open in Punta Cana offering miniature golf and cutting edge, first-of-a-kind rides and attractions that are sure to get everyone’s hearts beating faster!
In addition to Katmandu, you and your family can enjoy Caribbean Lake Park in downtown Punta Cana that offers fun activities like water blob, zip lines and wakeboarding. There is also a terrific little restaurant inside the park called Batu that offers a diverse array of cuisine, sure to please everyone. Some of our favorite dishes at Batu are the Pokebowl, BBQ wings and calamari.
Are you an avid golfer? Punta Cana has some of the world’s most beautiful golf courses including Corales Golf course, which hosts the PGA tour! Also lberostar, Cocotal Golf and Country Club and The Lakes at Barcelo Bavaro Resort are some of the favorites among locals and expats. Punta Espada Golf Club is another great course that we highly recommend.
If you like a bit of nightlife, we think you’ll really enjoy Coco Bongo, which is a completely unique experience. Many say Coco Bongo is one of the absolute hottest nightlife spots in all of the Dominican Republic! Downtown Punta Cana also offers Coco Bar, Havana, Yoshi and other outdoor restaurants that provide an upbeat setting with music and dancing. Most restaurants in the Punta Cana area have live music and/or DJ’s on any given night!
Of course, there’s relaxing on pristine soft sand on beautiful Macao Beach, Saona Island and Catalina Island if that’s more your speed. Or you can spend the day diving and snorkeling, or take a boat out for an afternoon of deep sea fishing.
Whether you are looking to relax on the beach, take a day to explore or go on an excursion, play a round of golf, dance the night away or whatever your heart desires…Punta Cana is the place where it can all happen!
